The loan scheme ensures that deserving students are not held back due to financial constraints, offering maximum loan limits of ₹7.5 lakh for Indian institutions and ₹15 lakh for studies abroad, with flexible repayment options.


Benefits

  • Loan up to ₹7.5 lakh for professional and technical courses within India.

  • Loan up to ₹15 lakh for education abroad.

  • No promoter contribution is required for loans up to ₹4 lakh.

  • For loans above ₹4 lakh:

    • 5% contribution to studies in India.

    • 15% contribution for studies abroad.

  • Repayment period of up to 10 years after course completion or until employment, whichever is earlier.

  • Option for early repayment available to the borrower.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Permanent resident of Delhi.

  • Must belong to one of the following categories: SC/ST/OBC/Minority/PwD.

  • Annual family income should be below ₹5 lakh.

  • Should have secured admission to a recognized Government or Technical institution in India or abroad.

  • The institution must have offered the course for at least 3 years.

  • The course duration must not exceed 5 years.

  • Institutions must be recognized by UGC, AICTE, or equivalent authorities.


Application Process

The Application for SC/ST/OBC, Minority & PwD Students Education Loan for Higher Studies can applied through the offline mode only.

Step 1: Get the Application Form

  • Visit any of these DSFDC offices for a free form:

    • 2-Battery Lane, Rajpur Road, Delhi-54.

    • A-33-38, B-Block, Lal Building, Opp. Police Station, Mangol Puri, Delhi.

    • A-Block, 1st Floor, Bunker Vihar, Opp. Gagan Cinema, Nand Nagri, Delhi.

Step 2: Fill in the Form

  • Use black ink and fill carefully.

  • Paste a passport-sized photo and attach all required self-attested documents.

Step 3: Submit the Application

  • Submit to:

  • Bring original documents for verification during submission.

  • Aadhaar Cards of Borrower, Co-Borrower & Guarantor.

  • Income Certificate from SDM or Form 16 of Co-Borrower.

  • Last exam mark sheet (based on which admission was granted).

  • 4 passport-size photos each of Borrower, Co-Borrower & Guarantor.

  • 1 full-size photo (if PwD category).

  • Birth certificate or age proof.

  • Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC) from SDM/DC or Minority affidavit.

  • Disability certificate (if applicable – 40% or more from a govt. hospital).

  • Affidavit stating no other loan has been taken.

  • Scholarship/freeship/studentship confirmation letter (if any).

  • Proof of admission and course details.

  • Payment schedule or demand notice from the institution.

  • Foreign expenses permit (if applicable).

  • Last 6 months bank statement of Borrower and Co-Borrower.

  • Signature verification from the bank.

  • Statement of assets and liabilities.

Post-Sanction Documents

  • Signed sanction-cum agreement letter.

  • Guarantee deed and hypothecation deed.

  • Legal heir affidavit.

  • Personal guarantee affidavit.

  • ECS/post-dated cheques.

  • ₹350 processing fee.

  • ID proof of 2 witnesses.

  • Previous year’s academic result.

  • Undertaking to maintain bank account until loan repayment is complete.

Guarantor Documents

  • Aadhaar/Voter ID/Passport.

  • Employer ID card.

  • Latest pay slip and Form 16.

  • Age proof.

  • 4 passport-sized photos.

  • Guarantor affidavit.

  • 5 PDCs (if loan > ₹2 lakh).

  • Guarantor undertaking OR:

    • NSC/KVP/FDR with a lien in DSFDC’s favor
