The Apun Ghar Scheme is a housing loan initiative launched by the Government of Assam in the Budget 2016-17, aimed at providing affordable home loans to permanent state government employees. Under this scheme, employees receive interest subvention from the government, significantly reducing the effective interest rate on loans availed for purchasing or constructing a house or flat.
The scheme is implemented in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI) and is applicable for new house/flat purchases, construction, and even home loan takeovers from other banks.
