Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme 2025

Launched on June 29, 2020, the PMFME scheme is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI). It aims to support the upgradation and formalisation of micro food processing enterprises through a structured financial and training framework.

Eligibility Criteria

For Individuals (Micro Enterprises)

• Age: 18+ years
• Education: Minimum Class 8 pass
• Existing food processor or starting ODOP-based new unit
• Ownership of business and contribution of 10% project cost
• Employs fewer than 10 workers
• Preference to units already operating under the ODOP framework

For SHGs

• Existing members involved in food processing
• Eligibility for ₹40,000 seed capital/member
• 3+ years of experience in ODOP processing preferred
• 10% project contribution and 20% margin for capital investment

For FPOs/Cooperatives

• Involved in ODOP production with a minimum turnover of ₹1 crore
• Members with min 3 years of experience
• Internal resource availability for the project share

For Branding/Marketing Support

• Product must be ODOP
• Min turnover: ₹5 crore
• Applicant must be FPO/SHG/Cooperative or similar SPV
• Product must be consumer retail-ready


Exclusions

• More than one applicant from a single family
• Units employing more than 10 workers (ineligible under individual micro enterprise support)


How to Apply – Online Process

  1. Go to: https://pmfme.mofpi.gov.in

  2. Click “Login” → “Applicant Login”

  3. New users: click “Sign Up” and register

  4. Select type (Individual/SHG/FPO/Cooperative, etc.)

  5. Fill out the form with personal, enterprise, and bank details

  6. Upload mandatory documents

  7. Submit the application form and await approval
